The CSO will make anonymised microdata files relating to SILC data available free of charge to students and researchers for non-commercial purposes through the Irish Social Science Data Archive (ISSDA) which can be accessed at Irish Social Science Data Archive (ISSDA)

Legal Basis

The SILC is conducted in accordance with EU Regulations.

Fieldforce Structure

The CSO operates an integrated household survey field-force of 12 Field Co-ordinators and 150 interviewers to collect information continuously for both the Survey on Income and Living Conditions (SILC) and the Quarterly National Household Survey (QNHS). The field-staff, who are interviewing on a continuous basis for both surveys, interview approximately 3,000 households nation-wide every week for the QNHS and an average of between 130 - 150 households per week for the SILC.
