The competition for Census Field Supervisor is now CLOSED

The final phase of the recruitment for the census will be for the 5,000 census enumerators who will work for 10 weeks beginning on the 8th March. Advertisements for these positions will be advertised on the 4th January.

The next census of population will take place in April 2011. In order to conduct the successful delivery and collection of census forms to every household in the country the CSO will recruit a temporary field force of about 5,500 people. The recruitment is carried out in a pyramid structure, with 50 Senior Managers, 440 Field Supervisors, and 5,000 enumerators. The 50 senior manager positions were filled through open recruitment in June of this year.

The CSO has now launched the second phase of the recruitment campaign with the advertisement of 440 Field Supervisor positions. Applications are being taken online on the CSO web site from 9am on Thursday 16th September at 9am. The 440 positions are for a fixed purpose 6 month contract, with supervisors working from their own homes. These jobs are spread across all areas of Ireland, according to the population density.
