It is estimated that the materials used on Census 2006 weighed about 230 tonnes.
The main bulk of this material consisted of1,500,000 Household Census Forms.
From the CSO office in Swords, all the material was packed into 9,000 enumerator storage cases and was delivered directly by a specialised transport company to the 400 census field supervisors and to the 24 regional offices.
They were then distributed to the 4,400 census enumerators who personally delivered a census form to each and every household in the country.
