In July 2019, the Director-General of the Central Statistics Office (CSO), Mr. Pádraig Dalton, and Manager of Aviation Forecasts and Analysis of the Dublin Airport Authority (daa), Mr. Pádraig Butler, signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the Central Statistics Office (CSO) and the Dublin Airport Authority (DAA) (PDF 153KB) ) covering enhanced data cooperation between the two Offices.
The MoU allows for the daa to provide the CSO with extracts from their database on commercial flight numbers to and from Dublin and Cork Airports, and follows a request to the daa by the CSO under Section 30 of the Statistics Act, 1993. Section 30 of the Statistics Act, 1993. governs the use of records of Public Authorities for Statistical Purposes.
This MoU sets out the factors contributing to the request of this information and arrangements that have been agreed between the CSO and the daa for the transmission and usage of this data.
