In December 2016, a Data Exchange Agreement (PDF 1,494KB) was concluded between the Central Statistics Office (CSO) and the Residential Tenancies Board (RTB). The Agreement allows for the RTB to provide the CSO with extracts from the Register of Tenancies, and follows a request to the RTB by the CSO under Section 24 of the Statistics Act, 1993.
The Agreement recognises that the Register of Tenancies, in combination with other relevant data sources can provide valuable statistical information to inform policy with respect to the housing sector.
