Following a review of the Statistics of Port Traffic (SPT) release for Quarter 4 and Year 2023, which was published on the 28 May 2024, processing and compilation issues were identified.
As of 28 June 2024, all the necessary corrections have been made to the SPT Quarter 4 and Year 2023 data for Dublin. The analysis and outputs of the SPT data for Quarter 4 and Year 2023 including the relevant tables, graphs, and text of this release have been updated to reflect these corrections. The tables affected by these revisions were the Headline Table, Table 1A, Table 4A and Table 5A and the figures affected are Figure 1 and 2.
Users should note that the data in Tables 1,2,2A,3,3A,4,5,6 and 7 of the SPT release were not impacted.
The error resulted in an under-estimation of the SPT for Q4 and Year 2023. The overall heading of goods handled by Irish Ports for 2023 was 46.4 million tonnes of goods when it should have been 47.6 million tonnes.
