Following a review of the Quarter 1 2025 Road Freight Transport release (RFS), published on 28 August 2025, significant issues were identified in the processing and compilation of the data.
On 05 February 2026, all necessary corrections were made to the RFS Quarter 1 2025 data. The analysis and outputs for this release – including tables, charts and text – have been updated to reflect these corrections. The affected tables are the Headline Table and Tables 1 to 5, while the affected Charts are Figures 1, 2 and 3. The tables that were originally published in the release are included in this Information Note for comparison purposes.
The error resulted in an overestimation of road freight activity for Quarter 1 2025. The reported total quantity of goods transported by road was 45.3 million tonnes, whereas the corrected figure is 44.7 million tonnes. We apologise for any inconvenience caused.
