The timeliness of SHA data is dependent on the availability of audited accounts and source data being required by SHA categories. However, the following tables provide first estimates of the SHA expenditure for 2019. The data is based on the total amount of SHA expenditure by the HSE in 2019, along with figures for other government health expenditure. Using these figures which represent most expenditure on health the expenditure was profiled across all classifications to 1-digit level. For more information see Background Notes.
Based on these first estimates, current health expenditure is estimated to have increased by 5.8% between 2018 and 2019. Government spending is estimated to have risen by 6.4%.
An adjustment has been made on the estimated increase in current health expenditure from 5.5%, to 5.8% between 2018 and 2019. |
