A quarter of people reported that they were physically active for at least 30 minutes every day in the week preceding the survey, while 8% had no days with 30 minutes of activity. See Figure 4.1, Table 4.1.
Younger age groups were less likely to report that they were physically active for at least 30 minutes every day, at 21% of those aged 40-49 and 22% of those aged 30-39, while 33% of those aged 60-69 and 39% of people aged 70 and over were active every day of the week. A higher proportion of people living in urban areas (9%) than rural areas (6%) reported no days of physical activity. In contrast, a slightly higher proportion of those living in rural areas (26%) were active every day than those living in urban areas (24%). See Table 4.1.
