The (unadjusted) value of goods imports grew by €649.2 million (+5.6%) to €12.3 billion in June 2025 compared with June 2024 (€11.6 billion).
The unadjusted exports for April, May, and June (Q2) 2025 were valued at €63.1 billion, a rise of €9 billion (+16.5%) compared with the same quarter last year, Q2 2024 (€54.2 billion); and a fall by €26.1 billion (-29.2%) compared with Q1 2025 (€89.2 billion).
Seasonally adjusted goods exports declined by €6.1 billion (-26.3%) to €17.2 billion in June compared with May 2025 (€23.3 billion), leading to a decrease of €6.8 billion (-55.7%) in the seasonally adjusted trade surplus to €5.4 billion in June compared with May 2025 (€12.3 billion).
Exports to Great Britain increased by €141.6 million (+12.8%) to €1.24 billion in June 2025 compared with June 2024 (€1.10 billion).
Exports to the US fell by €1.3 billion (-23.4%) to €4.4 billion in June 2025 compared with June 2024 (€5.7 billion).
Exports of Organic Chemicals dropped by €750.4 million (-29.9%) to €1.8 billion in June 2025 compared with June 2024 (€2.5 billion).
The most recent month’s data on External Trade in Goods figures are provisional and subject to revision. Revisions to the monthly series back data shall take place, if and as required, on foot of late survey returns, VAT returns and corrections made by traders. The data for the same month a year ago may be considered final – revisions would be applied only in exceptional circumstances. Revisions are applied also to the volume indices and to the seasonally adjusted data.

Seasonally adjusted goods exports decreased by €6.1 billion (-26.3%) to €17.2 billion in June compared with May 2025 (€23.3 billion), according to preliminary figures.
Seasonally adjusted goods imports increased by €708.5 million (+6.4%) leading to a decrease of €6.8 billion (-55.7%) in the seasonally adjusted trade surplus to €5.4 billion in June compared with May 2025 (€12.3 billion) (See Table 2).
Seasonal adjustment compares month-to-month data by removing fluctuations that may occur due to seasonal patterns in trade.
The (unadjusted) value of goods exports increased by €800.7 million (+4.8%) to €17.5 billion in June 2025 compared with June 2024 (€16.7 billion).
The value of goods exports for the first 6 months of 2025 increased by €44.1 billion (+40.8%) to €152.4 billion, when compared with the same period of 2024 (€108.2 billion).
The unadjusted goods exports increased by €9 billion (+16.5%) to €63.1 billion in Q2 2025 compared with the same quarter last year (€54.2 billion). Unadjusted goods exports decreased by €26.1 billion (-29.2%) when compared with Q1 2025 (€89.2 billion).
The (unadjusted) value of goods imports increased by €649.2 million (+5.6%) to €12.3 billion in June 2025 compared with June 2024 (€11.6 billion).
Unadjusted goods imports were €33.9 billion in Quarter 2 (Q2) 2025, an increase of €501.8 million (+1.5%) when compared with the same period last year (€33.4 billion).

In June 2025, Ireland’s top exporting partners were the US, the Netherlands and Belgium, with Ireland exporting 24.9 % (€4.4 billion), 13.9% (€2.4 billion) and 10.1% (€1.8 billion) of total export goods respectively to these countries.
In June 2025, Ireland imported the highest value of goods from Germany, the US and France with these countries representing 12.7 % (€ 1.6 billion), 12.6% (€ 1.5 billion) and 12.1% (€ 1.49 billion) of the total import goods trade for June 2025.
Exports to Great Britain increased by €141.6 million (+12.8%) to €1.24 billion in June 2025 compared with June 2024 (€1.10 billion).
Exports to Great Britain accounted for 7.1% of total export trade in June 2025.The products which accounted for the largest share of exports to Great Britain were Food & Live Animals at €390.6 million, and Machinery & Transport Equipment at €278.9 million, representing 31.4% and 22.4% of total exports to Great Britain in June 2025.
Imports from Great Britain decreased by €170.9 million (-11.8%) to €1.3 billion in June 2025 compared with June 2024 (€1.4 billion). Imports from Great Britain accounted for 10.4% of total import trade in June 2025.
The products which accounted for the largest share of imports from Great Britain were Machinery & Transport Equipment at €246.3 million, and Chemicals & Related Products at €240.2 million, representing 19.3% and 18.8% of total imports from Great Britain in June 2025.
Exports to the US decreased by €1.3 billion (-23.4%) to €4.4 billion in June 2025 compared with June 2024 (€5.7 billion).
Exports to the US accounted for 24.9% of total export trade in June 2025.
Exports of goods to the US fell by €6.4 billion (59.6%) to €4.4 billion in June 2025 compared with May 2025 (€10.8 billion)
The products which accounted for the largest share of exports to the US were Chemicals & Related products at €3.2 billion, Miscellaneous Manufactured Articles at €622.4 million and Machinery & Transport Equipment at €412.0 million, representing 72.3%, 14.3% and 9.5% of total exports to the US in June 2025.
Imports from the US decreased by €505.1 million (-24.7%) to €1.5 billion in June 2025 compared with June 2024 (€2 billion).
Comparing June 2025 to May 2025, imports of goods from the US fell by €293.4 million (16.0%) from €1.8 billion in May 2025 to €1.5 billion in June 2025.
The products which accounted for the largest share of imports from the US were Chemicals & Related products at €576.3 million, Machinery & Transport Equipment at €562.8 million and Miscellaneous Manufactured Articles at €237.4 million, representing 37.3% 36.5% and 15.4% of total imports to US in June 2025.

Exports of Medical & Pharmaceutical Products increased by €591.3 million (+8.9%) to €7.3 billion in June 2025 compared with June 2024 (€6.7 billion). This represented 41.4% of total exports in June 2025.
Exports of Organic Chemicals decreased by €750.4 million (-29.9%) to €1.8 billion in June 2025 compared with June 2024 (€2.5 billion).
Exports of Office Machines & Automatic Data Processing Machines (including computers) increased by €669.1 million (+204.5%) to €996.4 million in June 2025 compared with June 2024 (€327.3 million) (See Table 3).
Imports of Medical & Pharmaceutical Products increased by €818.7 million (+70.7%) to €2.0 billion in June 2025 compared with June 2024 (€1.2 billion). This represented 16.1% of total goods imports in June 2025.
Imports of Organic Chemicals increased by €19.9 million (+3.5%) to €595.3 million in June 2025 compared with June 2024 (€575.4 million).
Imports of Office Machines & Automatic Data Processing Machines (including computers) increased by €264.6 million (+41.8%) to €897.5 million in June 2025 compared with June 2024 (€632.9 million) (See Table 3).

The Central Statistics Office (CSO) has today (15 August 2025) published Goods Exports and Imports June 2025.
Commenting on the release Jane Burmanje, Statistician in the International Trade in Goods Division said: “The (unadjusted) value of goods exports increased by €800.7 million (+4.8%) to €17.5 billion in June 2025 compared with June 2024 (€16.7 billion) while the value of goods imports grew by €649.2 million (+5.6%) to €12.3 billion compared with June 2024 (€11.6 billion).
The unadjusted exports for April, May, and June (Q2) 2025 were valued at €63.1 billion, down €26.1 billion (-29.2%) on Q1 2025 (€89.2 billion). However, unadjusted exports of goods in Q2 2025 were up €9 billion (+16.5%) compared with Q2 2024 (€54.2 billion).
Seasonally adjusted goods exports declined by €6.1 billion (-26.3%) to €17.2 billion in June compared with May 2025 (€23.3 billion) leading to a fall of €6.8 billion (-55.7%) in the seasonally adjusted trade surplus to €5.4 billion in June compared with May 2025 (€12.3 billion) (See Table 2).
