The COVID-19 Information Hub was developed by the Central Statistics Office (CSO) in 2020 in response to the emerging pandemic. The Hub collected in one location the CSO Statistical Releases on aspects of Ireland's economy and society affected by the COVID-19 pandemic. It was kept up to date with relevant reports between 2020 and 2022.
In 2025, we have reviewed and restructured the information presented in this Hub to provide a reference and resource for people seeking information on how life in Ireland was impacted by the pandemic at the time, and the measures introduced in response to the evolving situation. As part of this restructure, we have added a new section to include statistical releases examining the impact of the pandemic five years on, as well as a timeline of events during the period, and a reference glossary.
The statistics collected in the release archive, Measuring the Impact of COVID-19 2020-2022, were gathered from a broad range of sources including the CSO, the Central Bank of Ireland, other Government Departments and bodies, and international sources. All data presented on this Information Hub acknowledges the source and we thank all data providers for their support.
Please note: The CSO is not responsible for the quality of data from the external sources.
A CSO COVID-19 Data Research Hub is also available for researchers.
