The sector registered a profit of €2.1bn in 2024. The largest income source was the operational leasing of aircrafts, while the main components of expenditure were depreciation and interest paid.
Total assets stood at €268bn by the end of 2024, having grown 52% since 2014.

The Central Statistics Office (CSO) has today (13 August 2025) published the Aircraft Leasing in Ireland release for 2024.
Commenting on the release, Caoimhe Johnson, Statistician in the National Accounts Division, said: “Today’s release outlines the growth experienced by the aircraft leasing industry in Ireland over the last few years. People employed in the industry rose from 2,804 in 2019 to 3,005 in 2024, with total earnings increasing from €517 million to €620 million over the same period.
The income of aircraft leasing companies grew 54% between 2014 and 2024, ending the period at €21.9 billion. Meanwhile, expenditure rose by 66% during the same period, to €19.8 billion in 2024.
Total assets stood at €268 billion by the end of 2024, having grown 52% since 2014 mainly due to tangible fixed assets.”
