Please note that from September 2019, there will be a change to the replacement methodology for the following items in the Consumer Price Index (CPI);

  • Personal Computers (COICOP 09.1.3.1)[1]
  • Accessories for information processing equipment (COICOP 09.1.3.2)

This change relates to the quality adjustment technique for replacement from Bridged Overlap method to a Hedonic Regression approach.

The September 2019 release (release date in October) will be accompanied by a methodological document further outlining the details of this change in replacement technique.
