Survey Size:

The survey is a census of the larger pig farms which are responsible for the vast majority of pig farming within the state (approximately 350 specialised pig farms surveyed).

Principal Variables:

Breeding pigs: Boars, Sows in pig, Gilts in pig, Other sows for breeding, Gilts not yet served
Fattening pigs: Pigs 110kg and above, Pigs 80-110kg, Pigs 50-80kg, Pigs 20-50kg, Pigs under 20kg

Government, Eurostat, Media, Researchers, Teagasc (the Agriculture and Food Development Authority)
