The Young Economist of the Year, or YEOTY as it has become affectionately known, is now in its thirteenth year and has grown into a significant national initiative that celebrates and promotes the enjoyment and understanding of economics.
Open to entries from the Republic of Ireland and recently from Northern Ireland, YEOTY’s reach is growing and is now a well-respected all-Island event. It is partly funded by the Teacher Education Section (TES) of the Department of Education and Youth, under the auspices of Oide, and a strong network of partners such as the Central Statistics Office, University of Limerick, University College Dublin, Maynooth University, the Central Bank of Ireland, the Economic and Social Research Institute and many more.
The winner(s) of the CSO Best Use of Data Award at YEOTY will receive €500 and a medal.
