This is a revised version of the original release published on 27/06/2018. Revisions were necessary as a result of a processing error that occurred for two offence groups: Sexual offences (Group 02) and Fraud, deception and related offences (Group 09) for the year ending Q1 2018. The number of sexual offences for the year ending Q1 2018 has been corrected down to 2,918 (from 3,026) and fraud offences to 5,925 (from 6,036). This has reduced the year on year increase for sexual offences from 14.7% to 10.6%, and for fraud offences from 15.9% to 13.8%. No other offence group is affected by the error. These revisions have been applied to the relevant Statbank tables.
