What is the Safety of the Person Pilot Survey?

The Safety of the Person Survey Pilot survey is a voluntary survey carried out by the Central Statistics Office.

The purpose of the pilot is to test the feasibility of a web-based data collection approach, the questionnaire and field operations before undertaking the main survey. The purpose of the main survey will be to provide data on the personal safety of individuals in Ireland.

The statistics that will be produced from our main survey will be used by our National government to make policy decisions and to plan for our futures.

This is the first time this survey has been asked. There will be no statistical publication or release from this pilot. However, responding to this survey means that we can incorporate those learnings and build a better and more effective survey for the main survey.
