The Industrial Production & Turnover (IPT) results have been revised to reflect the revisions to the National Income and Expenditure Accounts for 2015 (released on 12 July 2016) which reported a substantial increase in GDP. These revisions, which are compiled in accordance with international rules, are attributable to the globalisation activities of a small number of companies.
As a result, users should exercise caution when interpreting the data, as IPT indicators may no longer provide a sufficient understanding of domestic production. CSO is currently exploring the development of new indicators.
For confidentiality reasons NACE 21, 26, 28 and 32-33 have been suppressed from January 2015. This will be reviewed depending on other data suppression in additional statistical releases produced later in the year.
