In March 2018, the total number of trips to Ireland by overseas residents increased by 5.5% to 759,800 - an overall increase of 39,800 compared to twelve months earlier. See tables 1 and 2.
Trips by residents of Great Britain decreased by 5.5% to 293,300 while trips by residents of European Countries other than Great Britain (Other Europe) increased by 8.5% to 269,700. Trips by residents of USA and Canada to Ireland increased by 24.8% to 158,200 while trips to Ireland from Other Areas increased by 13.5% to 38,700. See tables 1 and 2.
The total number of overseas trips made by Irish residents during March 2018 increased by 1.0% to 558,600. See tables 1 and 2.
The total number of trips (Irish residents’ trips overseas plus trips to Ireland) in March 2018 increased by 3.6% to 1,318,500 when compared to twelve months earlier. See tables 1 and 2.
In the three months to the end of March 2018, the total number of trips to Ireland increased by 6.9% when compared with the same period in 2017. Irish residents' trips overseas during the same period increased by 1.9%. See tables 3 and 4.
