In 2015, Irish licensed vehicles travelled a total of 46.0 billion kilometres. Each vehicle travelled, on average, 17,852 kilometres in 2015.
Private cars accounted for 77.4% of the total number of licensed vehicles and 75.3% of the total distance travelled in 2015. On average, each private car travelled 17,367 kilometres in 2015.
