Net Selling Value of PRODCOM products totals €87,506 million in 2011
The Central Statistics Office today published results from the 2011 PRODCOM inquiry on its website at
Over 48%, or €42 billion, of Irish product sales in 2011 are classified as Chemical or Pharmaceutical products.
The Food sector accounts for €17 billion of all product sales while the Computer, electronic, optical and electrical equipment product sales amount to €8.3 billion for the same period.
PRODCOM is the European Union’s standard classification of production statistics. It contains nearly 3,800 products, of which approximately 42% are produced and/or sold by Irish industrial enterprises. Its scope relates to the NACE activity
codes from 07 to 33.
